1.1 Health and Safety

What accidents could happen at these venues while people are working or while audience are visiting? Some boxes are already filled in for you but you will get more marks if you replace them with your own situations.

Tuck cables away neatly or keep that area clear from others

Someone could trip over the props that are scattered on the floor.

DANCE STUDIO

Dancing

Wet floor

Someone could slip over and hurt themselves during dancing

Make sure the floors is not wet whilst dancing, or if it is wet, then make sure its completely dry before using it.

MUSEUM OF CHILDHOOD

Lots of visitors

Small entrance

Could cause a stampede and children and adults could get hurt

Have 1 queue when entering the museum.

STRATFORD PICTUREHOUSE (cinema)

People entering the movies screens

The Darkness

People could fall over the stairs as they cant see because of the darkness

Get small lamps n the corridors of where the movie s screens are.

RICH MIX

Setting up cameras

Cables tangled together

Someone’s foot could get tangled up in the wires and they could injure themselves

Untangle cables

And keep them away from the floor to prevent people from tripping up

STRATFORD CIRCUS

People walking around the place at the top

At the top there isn’t any netting or anything protecting people from falling over the balcony

Someone could fall from over the top banisters of the place and have a bad injury

Buy a net to put up so there’s no way anyone can fall off the edge.

NETTIE HORN GALLERY

Everyone rushing into the galley at the same time

The entrance is small, and thee are bollards in between one of the rooms

If the gallery gets extremely packed, some people could get pushed into the bollards and get knocked out.

Only let a certain number of people into the gallery, and don’t allow it to get too over packed as it is small already

VOICE OF AFRICA RADIO

Doing a live broadcast outdoors

Interviewing people in the

streets

Could get hit by a car

Stay on one side of the pavement.
